We’re so glad you’re participating in testing the new form of the CIPT exam!
Welcome to your first step to becoming IAPP-certified—a chance to open up a whole new world of career opportunities.
But first, the details:
Before we deliver a new form to the broader public, we must collect exam data to verify the new form meets our gold standard through a beta test. You can help us by testing the new CIPT exam form and save significantly on your exam fees.
Before you purchase, a couple things to know:
- Your exam must be taken during the beta testing window: March 2-8, 2026.
- Your results will take up to 4 weeks from the end of the beta testing period to become available due to the data analysis required of the beta process.
- To prepare, please reference the current Body of Knowledge and Exam Blueprint available here.
Like all IAPP exams, this beta exam can be taken either at a PearsonVUE testing location—of which there are thousands across the globe—or remotely through a personal computer using OnVUE. Once you purchase your exam, you’ll be directed to PearsonVUE's website to choose your delivery method, location, exam date, and time. Specific date and time availability depends on the location of the test center.
You will have 2.5 hours to complete the 90 question exam. After question 45 you will be offered a 15-minute break. You will not be able to review questions from the first section once you have started your break.
