The AIGP exam assesses knowledge of responsible and ethical development, deployment and management of AI systems to ensure safety and trust. It consists of 100 questions and has an allotted time of 2.75 hours with a 15-minute break and must be completed within one year of purchase.
Exam administration
Exam can be taken either virtually from your home or office, or in-person at a test center.
- IAPP’s computer-based exams are administered through Pearson VUE testing centers at locations throughout the world.
- Remote test takers will find hundreds of virtual exam appointments available daily through Pearson VUE’s OnVue program.
Scheduling is done through the Pearson VUE website, which is accessed through the “My Purchases” section of your MyIAPP account.
Certification maintenance
The AIGP certification term is two years, beginning the day after you pass your exam. If you already hold an IAPP certification, please see the IAPP continuing education policy for details about term alignment.
Certification holders must fulfill the two minimum requirements to maintain their certification: (1) submit evidence of 20 continuing education credits that correspond to the content in the AIGP BoK and (2) pay a certification maintenance fee for their term. For members, this fee is covered as part of their membership benefits. For non-members, the initial CMF is included in their exam fee and then a $250 CMF fee is required upon recertification.
